SHAVEI SHOMRON

A group of religious families from Netanya established Shavei Shomron in 1977 naming the community for the archaeological findings of the ancient Biblical town of Shomron.

125 families between the ages of 20-60 make their homes here and work in a variety of fields including agriculture, education and small private businesses. Ethiopian and Russian olim have been comfortably and successfully integrated into this welcoming community.

Children receive warm, supportive care and learning from birth through the sixth grade within the community, with elementary school classes being separated by gender.

High School girls learn in the Ulpana in neighboring Kedumim while boys study in Karnei Shomron.

In addition to weekly Bnei Akiva and Oz Youth Group activities, there is a wide selection of extracurricular activities offered for children in Kedumim including drawing, folk dancing, gymnastics and martial arts.

Drawing classes and exercise classes are offered twice weekly for women.

Community trips are organized during the summer, at Pesach and at Hanukah.

The three synagogues of Shavei Shomron offer a choice of Separdi, Yemenite and Ahid minyanim.

Among community facilities are a mikveh, library, swimming pool, grocery store and medical clinic.

Egged Line 473 between Jerusalem and Netanya serves Shavei Shomron four times daily. Line 38 from Netanya also serves all communities in the area.
