MEVO'OT YERICHO

Mevo'ot Yericho was established in 2002 in The Jordan Valley on the northern side of Yericho. Twenty families between the ages of 20-37, native-born Israelis and olim, live in this religious, agricultural community. They are employed in other fields as well, including hi-tech, private business and learning Torah. The mixture of backgrounds and walks of life makes for an interesting personal mosaic blending into one big family.

The temperate year round climate adds to the peaceful feeling in Mevo'ot Yericho.

The youngest of the children are cared for in the community's day care centers while kindergarteners are provided with transportation to the nearby village of Nativ HaGedud. Elementary school age children travel to Michmas.

There is a kolel in Mevo'ot Yericho wherein students from the community receive a living stipend enabling them to learn full time.

Reflecting how important community feeling is to the residents, they have a joint seuda shlishit every Shabbat.

After school activities are provided in neighboring Argaman.
